This is a site about a very very special dog, my most devoted admirer and foremost my very best friend who follows me like a shadow everywhere I go. A dog who is so much more than a dog, with brains of a scientist, disposition of a court jester, appearance of a sheep, eyes of a ball-chasing addict, behaviour of a monkey, and well... character of a confirmed weirdo :-)
Stars of Hope Always in Love to Lupin - Ben
I hope you enjoy browsing my site, and I hope Ben makes you laugh as much as he makes me. Ben was born on June 5, 2008, in a litter of four puppies. He spent his puppyhood with his breeder Anita, whom I would like to thank here for all the love and caring you gave to Ben and for the tears in your eyes when I decided Ben is coming home with me. I couldn't imagine a better breeder for my little Ben!
My greatest and only wish when I decided to have a dog was for him to accompany me 24/7 (which was also the reason why I preferred to take a small dog over a long-wished big one). However, I soon realized my puppy was an energetic bomb who resembled more a monkey than a dog. Long walks and hikes were never tiring enough. That's why we decided to use the brains and started to learn tons of tricks and to take agility classes to make some use of this extra energy.

Agility Austria: Ben's final exam for A2
This weekend our friends Metka and Roland invited us to agility competition in Austria. There were 2 agility runs and no jumping - perfect for those who want to move to a higher class, A2 or A3. Not really that important for Ben, because I am keeping him in A1 until next season, but still, I prefer running agility than jumping because it is very important for him to get used to all new equipment + I find it more interesting. And so on Friday morning we headed towards another agility weekend. We stopped at our friend's place, Maja with her BC Phoebe, and in the afternoon we went together to St. Margarethen. It still felt like running in Slovenia, since like half of the competitors in A1 small and some others as well came from Slovenia :)
The first agility run was very good, but again one very ugly enormous turn. He already headed towards A-frame or tunnel, not sure, but I managed to call him back without refusal. He still has that moments, when he just wants to run his own course, with me following him :) Maybe he is just dissatisfied with my handling and he thinks it would be a better idea to switch the roles - Ben handling, Nina jumping over bars :D Other than that it looked pretty good, PERFECT contacts, eventhough there was a tire after the dogwalk and we didn't train tire at all. Funny, we had to run the same course again, because they didn't have our time, something went wrong. So we had another clean run, but without the first enormous turn (it was easy since Ben and I knew the course already :)). This is how Ben won agility run and passed his final exam for A2!!!!! :D
Our second agility run was great too, right until the very end, where I was just a little too slow and Ben jumped over the wrong bar. That would mean another 1st place for Ben, but well, we were eliminated in the end of the course, I have to start running faster.
We spent the night and Saturday in Prekmurje with Maja&Phoebe and Metka, Roland&their parsons. So we really had a great time, they are all so very positive and good people (and doggies) to have around! :)

No, I never was a materialist, I never sought happiness in money or possessings and I never understood why people are pushing so hard for having expensive things, new car, expensive clothes... Eventhough I never wished to have all that, having a dog made me realize even more, how little it takes to be happy, it is those little moments that I share with my dog that put a smile on my face every day. He sure does make me cry sometimes, but he makes me smile like ten times a day. I do have to give up a lot of things, but it is a million times worth it. So yes, I consider myself a very happy person, I have my ups and downs, my little and big problems, but my life is full of smiles :)
